Image of Nursing
I chose this image because to me, the meaning of being a nurse connects back to my childhood best friend and this is a picture showing the two of us. My childhood best friend was born with a club foot and a leg length discrepancy, resulting in her undergoing two leg lengthening surgeries as well as several others throughout our childhood. Growing up I saw how much pain she was in, as well as how much help the nurses were to her during her surgeries. Due to this, I decided I wanted to become a nurse in order to help people just has the nurses helped her. Thus, to me nursing means helping people who are in pain as well as helping people to feel better during hard times, and everything that I will do as a nurse connects back to and reminds me of my childhood best friend.

I love this picture! This is a really sweet reason for wanting to become a nurse. What struck me about this photo is how young you were and that you were able to recognize the work the nurses were doing for your friend, and how that eventually inspired you to want to become a nurse yourself. This photo represents nursing in the same way I view it, which is caring for others during especially during hard times, and just being a rock for others. I think this quality is what most people associate with nurses. Cultural representations such as tv shows like Greys Anatomy help to shape our own ideas about nursing, and this image definitely connects to that representation in a caring way. Overall, I love how you have such a personal inspiration for wanting to enter the field, and I think that will take you a long way in your career.
