This Chosen Work Sample shows that I have the ability to cite sources using MLA guidelines and to make local revisions, as it shows an improvement and growth in these areas from my first essay. Specifically, in this chosen work sample I included two MLA source citations, as well as proper in text citations after each, as well as properly formatted my name, teacher, class, and date, as well as included my last name and page number at the top of each page. Additionally, I demonstrated my ability to make local revisions and address typical errors between Project 1 and the Chosen Work Sample. During the grading process of Project 1, I was told that I needed to include my last name and page number in the top right of the pages in order for it to be proper MLA format. As a result, in the Chosen Work Sample I made sure to do this local revision and add this in, thus showing my ability to preform local revisions to address typical errors. Furthermore, between my first and final draft of the Chosen Work Sample growth can be seen in my MLA citations and format. Early drafts of my Chosen Work Sample did not include my last name and page number on the top, as I added this in once I was finished writing my essay, and also did not include all of the in text citations. This was due to me forgetting to add in the page numbers for each in text citation, and having to go back through during the revision process to add them. This once again shows my ability to preform local revisions to my MLA citations and format in order to make sure it meets all criteria. Overall, my Chosen Work Sample demonstrates an ability to properly follow MLA format as well as make local revisions to common error in regards to MLA guidelines.
